When an Altapp Trust Report says an app has zero trackers, that number comes from observation, not from the privacy policy. Policies describe intent; network traffic describes behavior.
For mobile apps we analyze the app package for known tracker SDKs — the same approach used by public interest projects like Exodus Privacy — and cross-reference against observed network endpoints.
Crash reporting is counted separately from advertising and analytics trackers, and the report says which is which. A single crash reporter is a different privacy posture than an advertising SDK, and flattening the two into one number would hide exactly the distinction that matters.
Every count is dated. Apps change between releases, so a tracker count is only claimed for the version it was measured on.
