Migrating a password vault feels risky, but the process is mechanical if you do it in the right order. This guide walks the full path: export, import, verify, and only then delete.
Start by exporting your vault to an encrypted file. Do this on a machine you trust, never on a shared or public computer, and avoid the unencrypted CSV option unless your destination requires it.
Import into your new manager — our shortlist has verified options for every budget — and then spot-check: your ten most important accounts, opened and logged in, one by one.
Only after that verification pass should you delete the export file and close the old account. The order matters more than the tools.
